You may have heard the news about the historical cicada emergence, or, depending where you live, you might have literally heard the cicadas themselves!

Periodical cicadas are emerging by the millions in 17 of the United States this year! Roger McMullan, our resident kids-comics-cicada-expert stopped by to share a comic and some fun activities to celebrate this phenomenal natural event with your students!

He’s also created a 90-page, educational graphic novel about the insects called Cicadapocalypse!

Roger McMullan isn't really a cicada, but he does spend a lot of time underground on his computer as a user experience designer. When he does emerge, he can be found in the forest, guiding kids and youth to enjoy nature and art.
